United States, Minnesota, Morrison, Camp Ripley National Guard Reservation. On islands in the free-flowing Mississippi River, ten miles north of downtown Little Falls.
Quite local on very small sandbars exposed in the past few weeks by receding water levels. Fairly fine moist sand, 6-10 inches above the present river level. Partial shade of Acer saccharinum in the canopy of the adjacent floodplain forest. ~Level setting dominated by Cyperus squarrosus. Also occurs on small mud flats and exposed silty shorelines in this vicinity.
Additional associates include Panicum philadelphicum, Eleocharis intermedia, Lindernia dubia, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Veronica catenata, V. peregrina, Gnaphalium uliginosum, Rumex fueginus, Persicaria lapathifolia. Also occurs on small mud flats and exposed silty shorelines in this vicinity.
