Habitat:
Frequent quite locally on very small sandbars exposed in the past few weeks by receding water levels. Fairly fine, moist sand, 6-10 inches above the water. Partial shade of Acer saccharinum in the canopy of the adjacent floodplain forest. Level setting dominated by Cyperus squarrosus. Also occurs on small mud flats and exposed silty shorelines in this vicinity.

Additional associates include Lindernia dubia, Veronica catenata, V. peregrina, Rumex fueginus, Gnaphalium uliginosum, Persicaria lapathifolia, Eragrostis hypnoides, Panicum philadelphicum, Eleocharis intermedia.
