Locality: United States, Minnesota, Morrison, Ereaux State Wildlife Management Area. Gently rolling sandy terrain east of State Highway 371, two miles northeast of Little Falls.

Habitat: Occasional to locally common in sedge/shrub fen (grading from rich to poor), in the broad central zone of an 80-acre wetland complex. Loose to moderately dense patches containing as many as a few thousand culms. Restricted to zones that have not yet been invaded by Typha xglauca. Moderately buoyant, deep, saturated peat. Continuous Sphagnum mosses. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, C. limosa, Eriophorum gracile, Drosera rotundifolia, Potentilla palustris, Betula pumila, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Spiraea tomentosa.
