Habitat:
Local atop a steep, 300-foot, west-facing bluff. Infrequent in a tiny bluff prairie remnant perched on a level bench ~15-20 feet back from the top of a dry dolomite cliff. Full sun (to shaded in the morning by Quercus ellipsoidalis, Q. macrocarpa, and Rhamnus cathartica). Loose groups of plants, in shallow, rocky silt over bedrock.
Associated Species:
Associates include Carex richardsonii, C. eburnea, Schizachryrium scoparium, Sisyrinchium campestre, Hypoxis hirsuta, Geum triflorum, Amorpha canescens, Juniperus communis.
