Habitat:
Local, occasional on a steep, 30-foot, northeasterly slope above the river. Narrow strip of woodland dominated by large, spreading Quercus macrocarpa, and smaller Acer negundo and Fraxinus pennsylvanica. Understory includes Ulmus americana. Sandy soil with a dark sandy-loam cap. Small clumps.
