United States, Minnesota, Winona, Great River Bluffs State Park. Rugged forested terrain along the Mississippi River eight miles north-northwest of La Crescent, 14 miles southeast of Winona.

Habitat:
Local on the upper slope of a steep, 400-foot, southerly-facing bluff. At the edge of a bluff prairie where the aspect is southeast, a few feet from where the steep northeast face of the bluff precipitously drops 580 feet to the Mississippi River. Partially shaded by Juniperus virginiana, Tilia americana, and Carya ovata. Shallow, rocky silt, near small dolomite outcrops. Dozens of plants. White flowers. This prairie was burned earlier this spring.

Associates include comandra umbellata, Coreopsis palmata, Asclepias verticillata, Galium boreale, Stipa spartea, Schizachryrium scoparium.
