Locality: United States, Minnesota, Kandiyohi, Strongly rolling morainal terrain three miles southwest of Atwater, ten miles east of Willmar.

Habitat: Occasional in a degraded calcareous seepage fen complex, perched on the moderately steep, (south- to) west-facing slopes of a 40-foot hill. Full sun in open fen settings (absent from shady spots beneath dense stands of Typha angustifolia that have invaded most of the fen). Wet marly muck. Small, loose patches, mostly in a small area near the top of the slope.
Associated Species: Associates include Juncus nodosus, Carex sterilis, C. granularis, Glyceria striata, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Parnassia glauca, Lobelia kalmii, Salix candida.
