Locality: United States, Minnesota, Morrison, Along U.S. Highway 10 on level to rolling outwash two miles northwest of Randall, in the broad median between the eastbound and westbound lanes of the four lane divided highway.

Habitat: Occasional. Forming loose clumps in moist to wet clayey organic substrate reworked during road construction in 2011; mostly in wetter spots. Full sun. This area dries out somewhat and is mowed / hayed as the growing season progresses.
Associated Species: Associates include Eleocharis erythropoda, Scirpus microcarpus, S. atrovirens, Carex stipata, C. granularis, C. aurea, C. tenera, C. hysteracina, C. vulpinoidea, C. brevior, Glyceria striata, Phalaris arundinacea, Equisetum arvense.
