Habitat: Uncommon and local in a fairly large mesic prairie remnant. Small, loose patch in a slightly wetter (wet-mesic) zone near the edge of a shallow cattail marsh. Full sun. Deep, moist, black loam.
Associated Species: Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Poa pratensis, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Fragaria virginiana, Zizia aurea, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Hypoxis hirsuta, Commandra umbellata.
