Locality: United States, Minnesota, Morrison, Along U.S. Highway 10 on level to rolling outwash 1/2 mile southeast of Cushing, four miles northwest of Randall.

Habitat: Occasional to locally common in sedge fen on the margin of a black spruce bog. Several loose patches with hundreds to thousands of fertile culms. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana. Continuous Sphagnum carpets. Wet buoyant peat; sometimes in shallow water.
Associated Species: Associates include Eriophorum gracile, Carex lasiocarpa, C. canescens, C. chordorrhiza, C. lacustris, C. utriculata, Thelypteris palustris, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Drosera rotundifolia, Utricularia intermedia, U. minor, Spiraea tomentosa, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Salix pyrifolia, S. lucida.
