Habitat:
Occasional to frequent in poor conifer swamp and black spruce bog. Patchy canopy of Picea mariana and Larix laricina. Partial sun to full shade. Continuous Sphagnum carpets. Deep peat. Loose clumps and small patches, mostly on hummocks.
Associated Species:
Additional associates include Chamaedaphne calyculata, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Smilacina trifolia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Eriophorum vaginatum.
