Habitat: Occasional on a moderately steep, 40-foot, north-facing slope. Narrow strip of mesic hardwood forest dominated by Quercus rubra, Q. macrocarpa, and Populus tremuloides. Dense subcanopy of Ostrya virginiana. Silty-loam.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex pensylvanica, C. pedunculata, C. deweyana, C. convoluta, Oryzopsis asperifolia, Cryptotaenia canadensis, Sanicula marilandica, Solidago flexicaulis, Desmodium glutinosum, Osmorhiza claytonii, Pyrola elliptica, Asarum canadense, Uvularia sessilifolia, U. grandiflora, Aster macrophyllus, Geum canadense, Toxicodendron rydbergii.
