Locality: United States, Minnesota, Todd, Long Prairie River State Wildlife Management Area. Local on the western shore of Dempsey Lake, in a large alluvial wetland complex along the Long Prairie River, on sandy outwash six miles north-northeast of Browerville.

Habitat: Occasional robust clumps at the water's edge, on a very buoyant and unstable saturated peat mat; lower portion of most plants are submerged in shallow water. Full sun. Associates include Carex lacustris, C. aquatilis, C. lasiocarpa, C. prairea, Impatiens capensis, Sagittaria latifolia, Cicuta bulbifera, Rumex orbiculatus, Liparis loeselii, Sparganium sp., Lysimachia thyrsiflora.
