Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Rolling to fairly rugged bedrock terrain along the Canadian border 22 miles north of Ely, on a small island in the northern portion of Sunday Bay, Crooked Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1250 feet
Habitat: Local on the bedrock shore of a small island. A large and dense patch, perched on a nearly level granitic shelf ~18-48 inches above the lake, mostly within ~15 feet of the water's edge. Full sun to partial shade of rather small Pinus resinosa, P. banksiana, and Thuja occidentalis. Along bedrock crevices and in shallow detrital soil over bedrock.
Associated Species: Associates include Prunus susquehanae, Spiraea alba, Myrica gale, Vaccinium angustifolium, Euthamia graminifolia, Carex katahdinensis, Agrostis scabra.
