Habitat:
Local in a vernal ash swamp bordering the south end of a long, narrow, and fairly shallow bay. Canopy of large Fraxinus nigra, with occasional Acer saccharinum, Abies balsamea, and Picea mariana. Shrub layer includes Alnus incana, Spiraea alba. Partial sun to full shade. Wet muck over gravelly clay. Loose patches.
