United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Along the Beartrap River 1/2 mile south of Sunday Lake, in rolling to rather rugged bedrock terrain 18 miles north of Ely.

Habitat:
Small, dense patches in the shallow (~2 feet deep) slack-water flowage here. Rooting in fairly deep, unconsolidated (soft) organics. Leaves and all but the uppermost portion of the culms submerged, upper culm slightly emergent; culms erect to leaning with the gentle current. Full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates include Sagittaria rigida, Sparganium emersum, Utricularia vulgaris.
