Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Along the Beartrap River in rolling to rather rugged bedrock terrain south of Sunday Lake, 18 miles north of Ely, along a ~3/4-mile stretch of slack-water flowage from the lake to (and past) the first rapids to the south (upstream).

Elevation: 383 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1255 feet
Habitat: Frequent. Forming small, dense patches along the margins of the shallow (~2 feet deep) channel. Rooting in fairly deep, unconsolidated (soft) organics. Most of the length of the stems (and many leaves) are largely prostrate / floating on the water surface. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Sparganium emersum, S. fluctuans, Sagittaria latifolia, Carex utriculata.
