Habitat: Common in moist, open sand on a large swimming beach, in areas that are less heavily trampled. Full sun. Stems often sprawling.
Associated Species: Associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. bipartitus, C. engelmannii, Panicum capillare, Eragrostis pectinacea, Echinochloa muricata, Persicaria maculosa, Myosoton aquaticum, Bidens frondosa.
