United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain 21 miles north-northwest of Ely, just north of Stuart Lake.

Habitat:
Frequent to common along the margins of a 16-acre beaver meadow. Dating to the mid-1960's, the dam was last breached (and pond drained) before 1990. Mostly in full sun (to partial shade of Picea glauca, P. mariana, and Alnus incana). Moist settings, mostly within ~15 yards of the forested upland. Grey clay with a silty-organic cap.
Associated Species:
Associates include Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex lacustris, Lysimachia terrestris, Geum aleppicum, Ophioglossum pusillum, Equisetum sylvaticum, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus.
