Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain 21 miles north-northwest of Ely, just north of Stuart Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1255 feet
Habitat: Local on the margins of a 16-acre beaver meadow. Dating to the mid-1960's, the dam was last breached (and pond drained) before 1990. Moist settings near the forested upland. Grey clay with a silty-organic cap. Specimens collected from the upper branches of a ~40-foot tall, ~12-inch D.B.H. tree. This species is quite uncommon in the general vicinity.
Associated Species: Associates include Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex lacustris, Cirsium arvense, Lysimachia terrestris, Viola incognita, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Picea mariana, Alnus incana.
