Locality: United States, Minnesota, Todd, Sheets Lake State Wildlife Management Area. Along County Road 14 on level to gently sloping outwash plain one mile east of Browerville.

Habitat: Local on the very gradually sloping margin of a small, shallow lake. Moist muck over sand, mostly in shallow water. Full sun. Forming fairly large and rather dense patches. Fertile culms are commonly 6-7 feet tall.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex utriculata, C. atherodes, Typha xglauca, Phalaris arundinacea, Persicaria amphibia, Sagittaria latifolia, Utricularia vulgaris.
