Locality: United States, Minnesota, Stearns, North Fork Wildlife Management Area. Level to very gently rolling outwash plain along the North Fork Crow River and the lower reaches of Sedan Brook, 4.5 miles northeast of Brooten.

Habitat: Occasional to frequent in the wet-mesic ecotone between a sedge meadow and a small mesic prairie remnant. Loose patches, with dozens of fertile culms. Wet mucky-organic soil. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex stricta, C. interior, C. buxbaumii, C. pellita, Spartina pectinata, Galium boreale, Aster puniceus, Packera aurea, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Helianthus giganteus, Solidago gigantea, Cornus sericea.
