Locality: United States, Minnesota, Stearns, North Fork Wildlife Management Area. Level to very gently rolling outwash plain along the North Fork Crow River and the lower reaches of Sedan Brook, 4.5 miles northeast of Brooten.

Habitat: Occasional in degraded (by past and current grazing) mesic to wet-mesic prairie. Deep moist loam. Full sun. Several small loose colonies here.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex pellita, C. granularis, C. tetanica, Spartina pectinata, Poa pratensis, Lathyrus palustris, Hypoxis hirsuta, Pedicularis canadensis, Zizia aurea, Z. aptera, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Polygala senega, Galium boreale, Sisyrinchium campestre, Achillea millefolium.
