Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Sundial Lake Primitive Management Area. Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain east of Stuart Lake, 20 miles north-northwest of Ely, on the southeastern shore of Bibon Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1290 feet
Habitat: Local, loose to moderately dense patch in soft, mucky substrate amongst scattered small boulders. Emergent in water ~18 inches deep (a low beaver dam on the small outlet channel has raised the lake level ~6-8 inches). Full sun. Stems are strongly triangular above, rounded and easily compressed below. Weak, easily broken rhizomes.
Associated Species: Associates include Dulichium arundinaceum, Carex lasiocarpa, C. echinata, Eriocaulon aquaticum, Nymphaea tuberosa.
