Locality:
United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Sundial Lake Primitive Management Area. Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain east of Stuart Lake, 20 miles north-northwest of Ely. Along the small, short channel between Nibin and Bibon Lakes.

Habitat:
Uncommon and quite local in a small patch (~1/4-acre) of rich sedge fen. Mostly in shallow moist peat over a large but low boulder, ~1-3 inches above lake level (beaver dam on the outlet has raised the level of Bibon Lake ~6-8 inches). Full sun. A few additional plants occur nearby, along the sandy shoreline of Bibon Lake.
Associated Species:
Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. cryptolepis, Utricularia intermedia, U. cornuta, Drosera rotundifolia, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
