Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. On the shores of Basswood Lake in fairly rugged bedrock terrain 11 miles north-northeast of Ely, in the western portion of Jackfish Bay.

Elevation: 396 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1300 feet

Habitat: Very local on a small (1/2-acre), low (<5 feet above the lake), narrow island. Loose patch of dozens of plants in a subtle depression in the rounded, gently sloping, granitic bedrock, ~18 inches above lake level in a zone that is periodically dampened by waves. Amongst scattered angular boulders in a shallow organic soil mat. Mostly in full sun.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Spiraea alba, Myrica gale, Prunus susquehanae, Carex tenera, Euthamia graminifolia.
