Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Sundial Lake Primitive Management Area. Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain between Stuart Lake and the Beartrap River, 20 miles north-northwest of Ely. On a small bedrock islet in Sterling Lake.

Elevation: 396 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1300 feet
Habitat: Very local. Small, loose patches in shallow detrital-organic soil along crevices of the gently sloping granite that rises 2-3 feet above the lake. ~20 plants here in moist settings ~4-12 inches above the water line (lake is down ~6 inches from the early season high mark). Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Agrostis scabra, Hypericum majus, Gratiola neglecta, Veronica peregrina.
