Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Sundial Lake Primitive Management Area. Along the Stewart River southeast of Stewart Lake, in rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain 19 miles north-northwest of Ely, on the shores of Contest Lake.

Habitat: Local, small dense patches in poor sedge fen on the boggy southern shore of this 20-acre lake. Buoyant, saturated peat. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Dulichium arundinaceum, Carex lasiocarpa, Potentilla palustris.
