United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Along the Stewart River south of White Feather Lake, in moderately rugged bedrock terrain 16 miles north-northwest of Ely.

Habitat:
Infrequent in a poor conifer swamp, in a large peatland that is influenced by beaver flooding and other changes in the level of the nearby river. Partial shade of patchy, stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana. On hummocks, in Sphagnum carpets.

Additional associates include Carex chordorrhiza, C. magellanica, C. stricta, Smilacina trifolia, Betula glandulifera, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Kalmia polifolia, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Ledum groenlandicum.
