Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, Riviera Ranch Public Water Access. On the north shore of Otter Tail Lake. Level to gently rolling outwash plain 3.5 miles west-northwest of Ottertail, 4.5 miles south of Richville.

Habitat: In the wave-wash zone; gently sloping setting ~6-8 inches above lake level. (Male plants are) occasional in fine open sand, often with a shallow detritus cap. (Female plants [MDL7142] are frequent here.) Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. engelmannii, Persicaria latifolia.
