Habitat:
Uncommon and quite local in an old gravel pit complex. Loose colony of several dozen fertile culms in a very small and degraded dry-mesic prairie remnant. Compacted gravelly loam; in a level area that was likely not actually mined but most likely was somewhat impacted by past gravel mining-related activities. Full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates include Poa pratensis, Sorghastrum nutans, Lithospermum canescens, Potentilla arguta, Galium boreale, Cirsium hillii, Viola pedatifida, Amorpha canescens, Toxicodendron rydbergii.
