Locality: United States, Minnesota, Todd, Level to rolling sand plain two miles northeast of Little Sauk, six miles south of Long Prairie, along U.S. Highway 71 at Township Road 137 (231st Avenue).

Habitat: Uncommon and quite local in an old gravel pit complex. Loose colony of several dozen fertile culms in a very small and degraded dry-mesic prairie remnant. Compacted gravelly loam; in a level area that was likely not actually mined but most likely was somewhat impacted by past gravel mining-related activities. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Poa pratensis, Sorghastrum nutans, Lithospermum canescens, Potentilla arguta, Galium boreale, Cirsium hillii, Viola pedatifida, Amorpha canescens, Toxicodendron rydbergii.
