Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, Strongly rolling morainal terrain north of Otter Tail Lake, six miles southwest of Richville, 12 miles south-southwest of Perham, on the south side of Davies Lake.

Habitat: Infrequent to occasional in a rather narrow zone of ash swamp. Patchy canopy and subcanopy of Fraxinus nigra and Betula alleghaniensis. Full shade to partial sun. Wet peaty muck, with groundwater seepage from the base of the nearby steep, northerly slope. Cespitose.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Mitella nuda, Stellaria longifolia, Equisetum arvense, Circaea alpina, Impatiens capensis, Thelypteris palustris, Geum rivale, Rubus pubescens, Ribes hirtellum, R. triste, Rhamnus alnifolia, Carex stipata, C. interior, C. leptalea, Glyceria striata.
