United States, Minnesota, Todd, Battle Point County Park. On the shores of Lake Osakis in rolling terrain five miles north-northeast of downtown Osakis, just south of Battle Point.

Habitat:
Very local on the rather steep southerly slope of a 30-foot hill, on the lakeshore. Partial sun beneath a patchy canopy of open-grown Quercus macrocarpa and Tilia americana. Patchy understory includes Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Acer saccharum, and Zanthoxylum americanum. Dark loamy soil. Small colony of small, dense clumps in a ~25 x 25 square foot area, ~30 feet from the lake.
