Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, Strongly rolling morainal terrain north of Otter Tail Lake, six miles southwest of Richville, 12 miles south-southwest of Perham, on the south side of Davies Lake.

Habitat: Uncommon and local on the moderately steep upper portion of a 30- to 40-foot, north-facing slope. Mesic hardwood forest recovering from past grazing. Canopy of Tilia americana and Acer saccharum. Understory is mostly Ostrya virginiana. Sandy-loam. A small, loose colony here.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex peckii, C. deweyana, C. pedunculata, Oryzopsis racemosa, Uvularia grandiflora, Solidago flexicaulis, Anemone quinquefolia, Hydrophyllum virginianum, Aralia nudicaulis.
