Habitat:
Uncommon and local on the upper portion of a steep, 40-foot, northerly slope. Mesic hardwood forest dominated by Populus grandidentata, Tilia americana, Betula papyrifera, and Acer saccharum. Understory of Ostrya virginiana and Prunus virginiana. Sandy-loam. Scattered clumps.
