Habitat:
Rolling drumlin plain five miles north-northeast of Clarissa, six miles east-northeast of Eagle Bend. Occasional to frequent in an inter-drumlin peatland along County Road 22. Patterned rich shrub fen (somewhat degraded by a large ditch) dominated by dense Betula pumila and Chamaedaphne calyculata. Full sun to partial shade of the shrubs and stunted Larix laricina. Forming clumps in deep, buoyant, saturated peat.

Additional associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, C. livida, C. interior, C. canescens, Eriophorum gracile, Thelypteris palustris, Equisetum fluviatile, Triadenum fraseri, Potentilla palustris, Viola macloskeyi, Drosera rotundifolia.
