Habitat: Infrequent in a patterned rich shrub fen (somewhat degraded by a large ditch) dominated by dense Betula pumila. Partial sun. Several small, loose clumps in deep, firm, moist peat.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. canescens, C. echinata, Aster borealis, Calamagrostis canadensis, Thelypteris palustris, Equisetum fluviatile, Potentilla palustris.
