Habitat:
Occasional in degraded ash swamp. Patchy canopy dominated by large Fraxinus nigra. Interrupted tall understory of Fraxinus nigra and Rhamnus cathartica. Full shade to partial sun. Moist to wet, fairly shallow, mucky-organic layer over sand. White ray flowers. Long rhizomes.
