United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Sundial Lake Primitive Management Area. Rolling to fairly rugged bedrock terrain east of White Feather Lake, west of the Beartrap River, 17 miles north-northwest of Ely, on the boggy western shore of Sundial Lake.

Habitat:
Local, occasional to abundant in a broad zone of poor sedge fen, and especially abundant within a few feet of the water's edge. Sparse to quite dense patches in wet, buoyant peat. Full sun.

Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. michauxiana, C. limosa, Dulichium arundinaceum, Drosera intermedia, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Utricularia cornuta, Scheuchzeria palustris, Iris versicolor, Lysimachia terrestris, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
