Locality: United States, Minnesota, Todd, Burleene State Wildlife Management Area. Large peatland complex on level to gently rolling outwash plain 7.5 miles southwest of Clarissa, 11 miles west of Browerville.

Habitat: Local in patterned rich fen. Infrequent in strings dominated by stunted Betula pumila, with occasional small Larix laricina. Full sun to partial shade. Deep, saturated, buoyant peat. Loosely cespitose.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. limosa, C. diandra, Eriophorum gracile, Equisetum fluviatile, Thelypteris palustris, Aster borealis, Smilacina trifolia, Galium labradoricum, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Salix pedicellaris, S. petiolaris, S. candida.
