Locality: United States, Minnesota, Todd, Burleene State Wildlife Management Area. Large peatland complex on level to gently rolling outwash plain 7.5 miles southwest of Clarissa, 11 miles west of Browerville.

Habitat: Infrequent to occasional in young tamarack swamp (transitional to the adjacent patterned rich fen). Partial shade beneath short, patchy Larix laricina. Deep, saturated, moderately buoyant peat. Small to rather large and dense clumps, mostly on tree-base hummocks and similar raised microsites.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex disperma, C. leptalea, Campanula aparinoides, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Thelypteris palustris, Salix candida, S. pedicellaris, Betula pumila.
