Locality:
United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Sundial Lake Primitive Management Area. Rolling to fairly rugged bedrock terrain east of White Feather Lake, west of the Beartrap River, 17 miles north-northwest of Ely, in a small peatland southwest of Sundial Lake.

Habitat:
Very local on the shores of a tiny (1/4-acre) bog pond. Forming small patches in a narrow zone of poor sedge fen, mostly within a few feet of the pond. Quite buoyant, wet peat. Continuous Sphagnum carpets. Full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates include Vaccinium oxycoccos, Andromeda glaucophylla, Carex oligosperma, C. limosa, Rhynchospora alba, Eriophorum virginicum, Scheuchzeria palustris, Drosera intermedia, Sarracenia purpurea.
