Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, Near the edge of a low upland island in an extensive wetland complex, on level to gently rolling sandy outwash 1.5 miles west of Wrightstown, seven miles west of Bertha.

Habitat: Infrequent in wet aspen forest dominated by Populus tremuloides. Patchy understory includes Salix bebbiana, Alnus incana, and Fraxinus pennsylvanica. Moist sand with a shallow loamy cap.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex stricta, C. lacustris, C. hysteracina, Phalaris arundinacea, Bromus ciliatus, Glyceria striata, Poa palustris, Equisetum arvense, Eupatorium maculatum, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Aster puniceus, A. lateriflorus, Solidago gigantea, Amphicarpaea bracteata, Rubus pubescens, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Cornus stolonifera.
