United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, 13 miles east-northeast of Ely, along the slack water flowage north of (not far upstream from) Tofte Lake.

Habitat:
Quite local in a black spruce bog. Patchy canopy locally, dominated by Picea mariana. Partial shade. In continuous moss carpet (primarily Sphagnum angustifolium). Deep, slightly buoyant, saturated peat. Loose patch with several dozen fertile culms.

Additional associates include Eriophorum vaginatum, Carex trisperma, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium oxycoccos.
