Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, On a large island in the extensive North and South Maple Lakes wetland complex, on level to gently rolling sandy outwash four miles northeast of Parkers Prairie.

Habitat: Very locally common on the margin of a small (~1/8-acre) sedge meadow. Shaded by Populus tremuloides, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Quercus macrocarpa, and Q. rubra in the canopy of the surrounding mesic hardwood forest. In moist to wet mucky-organic loam, at and just above the elevation of the meadow. Loose patches.
Associated Species: Associates include Scutellaria lateriflora, S. galericulata, Lycopus uniflorus, Arisaema triphyllum, Bidens frondosa, B. comosa, Athyrium angustum, Carex brunnescens, C. lupulina, Phalaris arundinacea.
