Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, On a large island in the extensive North and South Maple Lakes wetland complex, on level to gently rolling sandy outwash four miles northeast of Parkers Prairie.

Habitat: Uncommon in a very small vernal wetland depression bordering a subtly deeper and somewhat larger (~1/8-acre) sedge meadow. Partial sun to fully shaded by Tilia americana, Fraxinus nigra, and F. pennsylvanica in the canopy of the surrounding mesic hardwood forest. Moist to wet mucky-organic soil. Dense clumps.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex lupulina, Phalaris arundinacea, Glyceria striata, G. grandis, Cicuta bulbifera, Lycopus uniflorus, Scutellaria lateriflora, Onoclea sensibilis.
