Habitat:
Occasional to common in a small vernal wetland depression bordering a subtly deeper and somewhat larger (~1/8-acre) sedge meadow. Partial sun to fully shaded by Fraxinus nigra, F. pennsylvanica, and Tilia americana in the canopy of the surrounding mesic hardwood forest. Moist to wet mucky-organic soil. Small patches.
