Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, On a large island in the extensive North and South Maple Lakes wetland complex, on level to gently rolling sandy outwash four miles northeast of Parkers Prairie.

Habitat: Occasional to common in a small vernal wetland depression bordering a subtly deeper and somewhat larger (~1/8-acre) sedge meadow. Partial sun to fully shaded by Fraxinus nigra, F. pennsylvanica, and Tilia americana in the canopy of the surrounding mesic hardwood forest. Moist to wet mucky-organic soil. Small patches.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex lupulina, C. comosa, Phalaris arundinacea, Glyceria striata, G. grandis, Lycopus uniflorus, Scutellaria lateriflora, Cicuta bulbifera, Onoclea sensibilis.
