Locality: United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, Eastern State Wildlife Management Area. On the margin of a small hardwood island in the extensive wetland complex surrounding North and South Maple Lakes, on level to gently rolling sandy outwash four miles northeast of Parkers Prairie.

Habitat: Locally common in partially sunny to full shaded mesic to wet-mesic forest settings beneath Tilia americana, Ostrya virginiana, and Ulmus americana. Sandy loam with an organic cap. White flowers.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex pensylvanica, C. pedunculata, Festuca subverticillata, Phalaris arundinacea, Rubus pubescens, Solidago flexicaulis.
