Locality:
United States, Minnesota, Otter Tail, Eastern State Wildlife Management Area. On the margin of a small hardwood island in the extensive wetland complex surrounding North and South Maple Lakes, on level to gently rolling sandy outwash four miles northeast of Parkers Prairie.

Habitat:
Locally common in partially sunny to full shaded mesic to wet-mesic forest settings beneath Tilia americana, Ostrya virginiana, and Ulmus americana. Sandy loam with an organic cap. White flowers.

Additional associates include Carex pensylvanica, C. pedunculata, Festuca subverticillata, Phalaris arundinacea, Rubus pubescens, Solidago flexicaulis.
