United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, 13 miles east-northeast of Ely. Along the portage between Tofte Lake and Jasper Creek, near the Tofte Lake end of the portage.

Habitat:
Local in a small vernal wetland crossed by the trail. Partial sun beneath a pachy canopy of Fraxinus nigra, and an understory that includes Acer rubrum, Abies balsamea, Alnus incana, and Fraxinus nigra. Moist to quite wet mucky substrate. Several small clumps.

Additional associates include Carex vesicaria, C. stricta, C. retrorsa, Poa palustris, Glyceria striata, G. borealis, Calamagrostis canadensis, Juncus effusus, Mentha arvensis, Equisetum arvense, Scutellaria galericulata, Ranunculus pensylvanicus.
