United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rolling to moderately rugged bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, 13 miles east-northeast of Ely. Along the portage between Tofte Lake and Jasper Creek, near the Tofte Lake end of the portage.

Habitat:
Local in a small vernal wetland crossed by the trail. Partial sun beneath a patchy canopy of Fraxinus nigra, and an understory that includes Acer rubrum, Abies balsamea, Alnus incana, and Fraxinus nigra. Moist to quite wet mucky substrate. Robust clumps.

Additional associates include Carex arcta, C. vesicaria, C. retrorsa, Calamagrostis canadensis, Poa palustris, Glyceria striata, G. borealis, Juncus effusus, Scutellaria galericulata, Mentha arvensis, Equisetum arvense, Ranunculus pensylvanicus.
